The entrance to the court building brings you to what is actually the second floor. The second floor contains the grand jury room, the county clerks, district clerks, cashiers, a few different court management offices and the jurors’ arrival area. The first floor houses sheriff staff, the cafeteria and pre-trial services, among other areas.
The main entrance of the court building faces downtown, and you can see a nice view of the Dallas skyline when you exit the building. There are parking lots surrounding the building. You can park outside for about $5 all day.
Immediately behind the court building is the Lew Sterrett jail building. The jail is divided into different units, including the North Tower, West Tower and Katy Tower. There is a small walkway between the jail and the court building.
There is an outdoor, uncovered parking lot across the street from Lew Sterrett.
